dear pete and carmel and ted,

sending love to you, dear family. i will never forget an afternoon in christine and roy's garden, playing catch, knocking balls about, and sophie in her sweet sun hat with down turned brim ~ even from the shade, the radiance of our cousin shining through. 

in the time of such painful loss there is quite some comfort in the outdoors, isn't there, through the sadness breathing in the life of nature. just wanting to share pictures from a walk here, in honor of sophie's memory. fern, flower, and mirror for her, placed beneath a red maple. a reflection of light, a candle, a place to sit. the tree in fact has a long scar formed in the bark, healing and keeping it as one.
